Someone Is Stealing Time

My schedule has gone to hell in a hand basket since I finished Zane and took time off the writing stint to get some distance before hopping in with polishing and trimming.

I can’t figure out why I seem to get less accomplished each day, than I did when I was writing from 4:00-7:00 AM every morning. I’ve basically got three extra hours each day. Is my house cleaner? Ummm no. Are my dogs all brushed out and glossy? Um . . .no. Have I read any new books? Ummm . . .no.

I haven’t even been watching television.

I have no idea where those extra hours are disappearing to.

But I suspect someone on twitter may be stealing them.

On the Zane front. I still haven’t printed the book off and read it. My printer ran out of toner last weekend, and my hole-in-the-side-of-a-road-little-town doesn’t have decent office supply store. Which means no one carries my toner cartridge. I had to special order it. It was supposed to be here today, but I never got a chance to call and check on it. I don’t suppose it matters since I won’t have the chance to read the manuscript until this weekend anyway.

In other news, my wonderful CP Veronica re-read the first 18 chapters for me again. She is the first to read the new and improved (read layered to hell and back) version. Thank God she gave me the both thumbs up. From her feedback it sounds like the layering did exactly what I was hoping—which is bring my rather lack-luster villain to life. I still need to send the last two chapters out to CPs. But I want to read them one more time and fiddle a bit before doing so.

Looking forward to seeing how the book holds together this weekend.

  1. It sounds like you have a winner with Zane. Good going!

I know what you mean about time. I figured out that I'm avoiding promo. So instead of doing something that I enjoy doing--like writing--I waste time putzing around. I know, doesn't make sense. lol

  2. Putzing around is exactly the right word for it. lol

Promo has got to be one of the hardest things out there. I think its right up there along with writing the synopsis for things writers hate and try to avoid.

  3. Some days are just like that, Trish. Nothing gets done. Then some others happen and you wondered if there was in fact 24 hours in that day because you got sooo much done.

    Hugs!

  5. Zee,

I'm still waiting for one of those 24 hour days where I get lots done . . . haven’t seen one for a very long time.

hmmm- maybe someone is stealing time. . .
hmmm-- considering all the chemo you just went through, I wondering if you've acquired a new super power. Are you now able to steal peoples’ time and use it for yourself, increasing your productivity.

Are you a new super hero???

  6. Vee,

Cosky is next. But it will be a while. I have his heroine, but absolutely no plot. It's Zane all over again. (sigh

So while I brain storm his book, I'm going to go back and finish revising The Cat's meow.

Hopefully Cosky will have spilled the beans by the time I get back to him.
